2013 was a year of transition and maybe transformation as I created a life in Austin, TX. I wrote very little, yet experienced a lot internally. Here is a post from January 2012:
More questions …
Digging deep here in Austin is leading to release and renewal …
I keep returning to silence. And stillness. And I ask: how does silence and stillness interface with finding a new way in the world for my life and work?
Tonight I begin an on line course with Adyshanti based on his book, The Way of Liberation. The first step is to identify
What is my deepest desire and intention?
Here is an excerpt from the book:
As 2013 comes to a close, reading this post gives a helpful perspective on the year. I feel I have a better idea of what is important to me and I have been clarifying my aspirations as I have been learning to listen to my heart and gut. What I have felt is a great mourning for many things past. My actions reflect that I love introspection and finding ways to share my own unique, authentic self in the world. And that living in community, near the ocean are two of my greatest desires. Luckily, Delta has a good flight schedule between Austin and Nassau, Bahamas. The primary task of any good spiritual teaching … is not to answer your questions, but to question your answers …Clarify Aspiration: what do you value most in your life—not in the sense of moral values, but in the sense of what is most important to you. … Once you have clarified your aspiration, you now need to follow through on it. Following through has to do with what you are willing to do or let go of doing. [bold mine] … spirituality does not have to do with time or what can be achieved in time; it has to do only and always with the eternal present. … Aspiration is not so much a matter of the mind as of the heart, … what you actually love is most truly reflected in your actions, not in what you feel, think, or sayOm shanti
